Designs From The Bench

Delicacy and fragility are two of the underlying elements that underpin my work. This is also complemented by my aspiration to have a multiple or clusters of pieces enabling them to be worn in a variety of ways. I am always looking to capture the balance between taking these qualities from my inspirations and translating them into metal to be worn as body adornments.

On my journey to becoming a jeweller I have become increasingly aware of my passion for designing pieces for the hair. My latest collection represents this and upholds the qualities I am always striving for in my work with inspiration from the wings of butterflies. I hand pierce the metal which resonates with the fragile beauty of a butterfly but I have also found this using a delicate balance between technique and the materials used.  The paper nurtures the fragile nature of butterflies whilst the metal further complements and brings together the delicacy of the pieces.
